Currently, the CDC has updated its recommended guidelines to allow for routine vision care. Optometric offices are considered essential businesses. Therefore we are anticipating a resumption of normal services and hours beginning May 11th, subject to the following restrictions:
A mask or face covering which COMPLETELY COVERS the nose AND mouth is required to enter our office.
Social Distancing regulations must be followed – 6 feet distance between individuals.
Because of Social Distancing, we are limiting the number of individuals in the office. Each patient is encouraged to come by themselves or only bring one other person with them if necessary.
We will check each person’s temperature with a non-contact thermometer.
Once in the office, each person must wash their hands or use the provided hand sanitizer.
To protect you, before your exam, we will sanitize all equipment used for your exam.
We will also sanitize any pens or other equipment provided for you to use in our office.
We will sanitize any frames that you try on before they are returned to the displays.
Due to the fluid nature of the pandemic, we will update this list in response to any changes announced by the government. Please call our office at (808) 596-4445 if you have any questions. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Dear Patients,
Mayor Caldwell has issued a Stay At Home/Work From Home Order for the City & County of Honolulu that restricts individual and business activities beginning at 4:30pm on Monday, March 23, 2020 until April 30.
We would like to assure you that Dream Vision Eye Care will continue to be open for business but with limited services during this period.
Under the Order:
"Essential Businesses" are encouraged to remain open.
Healthcare Operations including eye care centers are defined as "Essential Businesses."
Individual travel to and from an "Essential Business" to receive essential services is permitted.
We are following the CDC recommendations to postpone all routine eye visits and are scheduling all routine eye exams for May 1st and after. However, we continue to be available for emergency eye care services by appointment only and we will do our best to order your eye care products remotely. Our telephone lines will remain open for all questions and concerns you may have.
You may pick-up your glasses from our office during normal business hours* or you may request that they be mailed to you for a nominal fee. For those who want to do an in-person pick-up, we are practicing “social distancing” and are requesting that you wait outside while we retrieve your glasses and we will hand them to you at the door.
REGARDING CONTACT LENS SUPPLIES:
If your contact lens prescription has NOT expired...
AND you are not having any issues with them, we are able to process your contact lens order. Our office is only closed temporarily for routine eye exams.
In an effort to help address this national health emergency, any orders processed by April 30, 2020 will be shipped to you for FREE.
If your contact lens prescription has expired…
Please call us at (808) 596-4445 to discuss options.
Aloha,
Dr. Leslie Poon, Dr. Nicole Yokoyama and the staff of Dream Vision Eye Care
